What is a Singapore Tourist Visa?
A Singapore Tourist Visa - officially called a Short-Term Visit Pass (STVP) - is a pre-entry permit that allows Indian nationals to visit Singapore for tourism, sightseeing, visiting family or friends, or short-term recreational activities. It does not permit any form of employment, paid work, or business activity.
The visa is issued by Singapore's Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) and processed digitally through the SAVE portal. Indian citizens cannot apply directly - the application must be submitted by an Authorized Local Contact (a Singapore citizen or Permanent Resident with SingPass) or through a specialized visa agency like ExpressVisaSG via verified Singapore partners.
Upon approval, you receive an Electronic Visa (e-Visa) as a PDF - no visa sticker in your passport until you arrive at Changi Airport, where an entry stamp is applied by the immigration officer.
